创作背景
《Smells Like Teen Spirit》的标题源自摇滚乐队Bikini Kill主唱凯思琳·汉娜的涂鸦，她认为涅槃乐队主唱科特·柯本的体味与体香喷雾“青春气息”（Teen Spirit）的味道很像，于是在柯本的卧室墙壁上喷出了“Kurt Smells Like Teen Spirit”的字样。
科特·柯本模仿小精灵乐队作品的风格写出了该曲。
